Pressure Vase
In the Pressure Series, Tim Teven uses material deformation under extreme pressure as a creative design element. This process, in which metal is worked through the application of pressure, not only leads to fascinating technical details, but also enriches the objects with new visual and tactile properties.
The vases in this collection are made from open steel tubes that are subjected to enormous pressure of up to 45 metric tons. This intensive treatment causes the tubes to deform and form attractive folds. This transformation gives the otherwise hard and cool material a soft and appealing appearance. A fascinating design object that is ideal for use as a vase.
